Crimson + Scarlett was born out of the need to keep my hands busy. At the time my daughter, Riann, had just turned one and my husband was embarking on a drastic career change…the Air Force and would leaving for 8 months. So what does anyone do when you are about to become a single parent for almost a year? Start a business! ( no? just me??) I guess I just needed something to call my own aside from my role as a mom.
I was already a quilter so C+S was originally planned to be a quilt shop. I came to realization however, quilts take A LOT of time and with my new role of a single mom I just didn’t have the time or energy and quickly became frustrated. My shop sat empty for a while.
Fast forward a while later, a few of my friends started building their essential oil businesses. My friend had asked me to make her a couple oil bags to take to a craft show with her and that was that! Making bags was so much fun (and something I could feasibly accomplish with my limited time). I decided not to stop and Crimson + Scarlett as we know it today was officially born!
Since opening in 2016 a lot has changed. I am now operating my business out of a much larger sewing studio and Riann became a big sister to the newest member of our family Lincoln. I am very excited to see what the future holds!
